Editorial policy
How the words get made
A comparison is only as good as its process. This page is that process, written down so readers can hold us to it.
How material is produced and sourced
Reviews and comparisons are written by the site's own editorial desk — no guest posts, no operator-supplied copy, no invented bylines. Each review starts from primary sources: the operator's own site, terms and help pages; the UK Gambling Commission's public register for licence status and licensee details; and hands-on checks of lobbies, navigation and sign-up flows on desktop and mobile.
Historical and factual pages, such as our casino facts, use only claims that are a matter of documented record. Where a widely repeated story cannot be verified, we either label it as reported or leave it out. We publish no statistics we did not gather and no testimonials from users we cannot name — which, since we collect none, means no testimonials at all.
How often entries are re-checked
Every operator entry is re-checked on a monthly cycle: licence status against the register, offer type against the operator's promotions page, and any product changes big enough to move a verdict. Each licence box carries its own "last checked" date, so the freshness of every claim is visible on the page rather than implied by the site's general goodwill.
Between cycles, a reader report of a changed detail triggers an out-of-cycle check — usually within a few working days.
How errors are corrected
When we get something wrong, the fix follows the corrections process: verify the report, correct the page, update its dates. Factual errors are corrected in place; a materially wrong verdict is re-reviewed rather than quietly edited.
How commercial relationships stay separate
- Affiliate agreements decide whether a link carries tracking — never what a review says. The two are handled as separate jobs.
- No operator sees, approves or edits a review before publication. None has asked twice.
- Verdicts and category picks come from our twelve-criteria method, described in the methodology, and change only when the product does.
- Commission rates play no role in editorial order. The full money side lives in the affiliate disclosure.
